The hunspell -la source files included with Fedora provide 2 spelling alternatives.

classical
universal

However Fedora only installs the 'universal' variant. The user does not have the possibility of using the 'classical' spelling variant, nor to switch between the two variants.

This version of hunspell-la installs the two spelling variants and incorporates the 'alternatives' utility. This allows the user to easily switch between the variants.

Installation

Install the repo and update:

dnf copr install boydkelly/hunspell-la
dnf update/install hunspell-la

Use the alternatives command to select the spelling variants.

allternatives --config hunspell-la

This will present you with a list where you can choose the spelling variant for the specified locale.

There are 3 programs which provide 'hunspell-fr_CA'.
